Emily has had a great summer. She had to get glasses this summer to help correct her vision. She does really good with wearing them because they help her to see better. We were riding home from picking up her glasses and she said from the back seat of the van, "Look, that man has a nose!" I wonder what she had been seeing and thinking up to that point. She has been practicing swimming without floaties and loves being outside. She has caught a couple of fish from the canal behind our house. She also had a great time at Vacation Bible School.

Emily is a ball of energy. She is going-going-going from the moment she wakes up in the morning till she finally falls asleep at night. She has been in her new preschool class for 2 months now. She loves her teacher Ms. Maggie and her new friends. She looks forward to going to class every Tuesday and Thursday. She has become a picky eater much to the dismay of her mom and dad. She loves to blow bubbles, draw in her notebooks, and share with others. She is very good at antagonizing her sister, but what second child isn't? We love her spunky personality. She makes the funniest expressions when she is talking at times.

Emily is growing up so much. She is soon to be 3 years old and love to tell stories, read books, sing songs, pretend to be a kitty cat, and much more. Santa came to our house to visit us this Christmas. Emily told him that she wanted a puppy and a kitty, but she did it from the safety of daddy's lap. In this photo she is telling Santa that she is 2 years old.

Here are a few pictures of her with family. She definitely has her own personality and way of interacting with people. She is very loving but gives hugs randomly. She has often said to me, "No hug and kiss, Mommy." Gotta keep trying though. :)

Emily is hilarious. Her vocabulary and communication grows daily. She has lots to say and says it very clearly. She is especially funny when she tells Mommy and Daddy, "I told you 'No' Mommy". She definitely hears everything we say and is listening. She is a very busy little girl. We have found few things that occupy her attention for more than a few minutes at a time. She wants to be a part of everything that is going on. I bet my, Amy's, parents would say that she gets that from her mom. They would be right.

Here she just finished eating a chocolate chip cookie and was showing off her new look. You can tell she enjoyed the cookie.

We had some of the single guys over for dinner. After dinner Shelbyanne invited them to the girls room for a tea party. The guys had a lot of fun pretending with them. I bet it has been a long time since they have been invited to a tea party.

We celebrated Emily's 2nd birthday last week. On her birthday we took her to a mexican resturaunt. Then on Friday we had a birthday party for her. We took her and 11 other children to the Tumble Jungle, where they played hard for an hour. They had so much fun. After that we had all of the kid's families over for pizza and cake.

This was her first gift that came in the mail. It was from her Aunt Shirley and Uncle Bob. She has loved playing with her cake building set, and apreciates all the other gifts and phone calls she received. Thank you for blessing her on her Special day!

Emily has been doing great. She is growing like a weed. She loves to play, jibber-jabber, walk around the room and say the names of things she knows the names of. Here are some picture of thing she has been doing lately.

Emily got her first haircut. Her bangs were a bit long and scraggly, so mommy cut them.

Emily is an "on the move" kind of girl. She very rarely sits still, and loves to do anything outside, even though it is crazy hot out there. She is such a funny & sweet little girl. She has been adjusting to all the traveling we have done this summer. She is also adjusting to the central time zone pretty well, although she is waking up between 6 and 7am. We are hoping she starts getting used to being back on central time and sleeping a bit later in the mornings.

Emily has a love/hate relationship with brushing her teeth. She loves it when she brushes, but she hates it when we do.

Emily loves to swing. She was glad to get to swing with Daddy.

Her cousin Emily had fun pushing her on the swing.

Here Emily was playing with Shelbyanne and friends in the "ball room", as Abby called it, at the Chick-Fil-A headquarters outside of Atlanta. She was watching the other girls very closely, because she wasn't exactly sure what to do with such a big ball. She normally likes to try to sit on them or roll on them, but this one was a bit big for her.

Here she is with some of our friends, John and Katy Kirkwood. They are so great with the girls. Emily is cheesing it up for the camera.

Emily loves to swing. She really loves to do anything outside, even though it is hot and humid. Guess it doesn't bother her like it does the rest of us.

Emily loves to look at books. She is doing better at sitting through Mommy or Daddy actually reading a book to her.
We can always get her to say cheese for the camera. She has such a spunky personality. She wakes up happy and spends her days in a good mood...minus a few fussy moments.
Emily is expressing new vocabulary words daily. Today she woke up saying sister (of course we understood what she was saying even though it did sound like "ti taw"). She knows lots of animal sounds, and loves puppies. She has no fear of big animals.

We are teaching Emily new words. Yesterday she started saying Baboo, Amy's Step-mother's name. Now we are working on Nana and Meme. She does well at trying to say new things. She is so cute when she tells a story in her bay talk. She is becoming quite the chatterbox.
